Extracurricular section - put hobbies too?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Do you really think dental schools care to know what your hobbies are? or what sports you like to play? I'm going to guess no.

I put down that I've played the piano for 17+ years in the extracurriculars section. I felt it showed dedication to something I love, and that I'm not just some study freak that stares at books all day to get good grades.

They might not care, but I felt it important to list.

This is one of the few areas you can separate yourself from other applicants. I listed a few personal organizations I was in (social) plus a few hobbies. Just stay away from putting anything that could be viewed negatively in this section.

its been a while since I filled out AADSAS, but........ I think there is a hobbies section by itself (can someone confirm this)

id like to think they like to see some people with varying interests besides just having their noses in the books 24/7... LIKE I SAID...i realized its PRIMARILY for volunteer work and community service, but it does also state "extracurriculars"
