hi, i took my dat august 2nd. I got a 21AA/21TS with no section lower than an 18. i have a 3.8 GPA, 120+ shadowing hours at three different dentists, 300+ volunteering hours, and have held multiple leadership positions on campus throughout my 3 years (3 years on pre-dental eboard, fraternity, and other minor roles in other organizations). i'm finalizing my personal statement rn so hopefully I'll submit by august 15... but idk if it's too late in the cycle rn to apply. i think i have a pretty solid application, but i'm just wondering if it's still worth it.
Is it too late to apply this cycle?

What do your prehealth advisors suggest? Have all your LORs been sent (I doubt it since you haven't even submitted)? Clarifying, are your LOR's in AADSAS now?
Many people post here about how they took the chance and didn't get into dental school. If only they didn't submit late. Do you want to join that chorus and waste a few hundred dollars on a rushed application, or wait until you can line everything up to submit on time next year?
If you are that desperate, you can apply now to HPU which is not on AADSAS. Caveat emptor.

I applied around that time in August I think it was around the 8th of August is when I submitted. My DAT was a little lower than yours, my other stats were good and I applied to a lot of schools since I applied kind of late (don’t know it it was necessary, but that’s what I did). I got two interview invites. I got accepted to my first choice school (in state) so I declined the interview to the second school that I got an invite from. So I certainly think you still have a chance as long as you have everything ready to submit.
