i had some questions about the eyelogic system......is this just a fancy autorefractor
or is this one of those computerized high tech phoropters?

i havent been able to find much information about it on the web..other than it is used for sight testing

another similar question....when ppl say sight-testing, do they mean using an autorefractor or using a computerized phoropter? or either?

Heyhey! I think I can answer you on that question
it's an autophoroptor (I dunno if it's high tech or not.. but it's pretty cool) when ppl say eye test at optical shops.. it's the Eyelogic which includes an autorefractor and the autophoryptor... as for as the accuracy.. if you know what you are doing, and actually put some thoughts in it..it's highly accurate.. however.. like we discuss b4.. it tells you NOTHING about the health of the eye... it ASSUMES you have healthy eye already..so thatz a major downfall to that.. if u have more Q..just ask away! =P..

so this whole thing in BC about sight-testing is about autophoropters and autorefractors?
or do you think that some opticians will use an autorefractor only and say that is a sight-test
im just confused which equipment is considered sight-testing equipment

btw do u use an autophoropter at your work? ive never seen one of these magical machines

(im doing a report for a class on this issue, so i need some clarification)

Heh.. those who said that they offer sigh testing at optical shops have the eyelogic system.. which includes the autorefractor + autophoroptor.. I'm 99 % sure that when they offer such service...its' the complete thing..
and yes...the place I work has one.. but I don't use it becoz I'm not an optician..I use it for fun.. hehe...

that eyelogic thingy cost a small fortune to rent!!.. not to mention own.. so I really wonder if it really boost up business for optical shops owners..
