F in chem :(

yeah so there isn't much to say besides I received an "F" in general chemistry. :scared:

Here are my other science/math classes and grades
Principles of Bio "B"
Human Physiology "B-"
Human Physiology Lab "A"
Human Anatomy "A"
Microbiology "B"
Microbiology lab "B"
Intro chem for health sciences "B"
Statistics "A-"
Pre-calculus "C'
Beginning Algebra "C"
... and the "F" in general chem

SO.... the bottom line, is it still possible, in a reasonable reach, to get accepted into veterinary school ?:xf:

When you retake it are you going to be able to do significantly better?
 
you betcha! I had some really bad times, so I didn't go to class, at all. I don't like excuses, but I will be able to do significantly better

Then you will be fine. I failed a prereq, retook it immediately and got an A. Did not have anyone even question me about it. 🙂

Yep, I got a D in second quarter chem, retook it and got a C, in fact all three quarters of chem for me were C's! Me and Chem didn't get along, but I did much better in O-Chem. The rest of my pre-reqs were A-B's though to offset my poor Chem performance. I also was never questioned about it!

Good luck, and try hard to improve the grade when you retake it!

Just to give you even more hope...

I failed first semester ochem, for a number of reasons out of my control. I retook it and got an A. The only school that asked about it was UC Davis. I explained my situation to them, and they were obviously fine with it.
 
Hey there,

If it makes you feel any better...I never missed a class in O chem, worked incredibly hard and still got a C-! I had to retake it and managed to get a B. So, you are definitely not alone! You'll do fine the next time! Don't ever give up! You can do it! 🙂
 
You are going to be just fine as long as you can get some more A's in upper level bio and chem. You probably do not need too many more B's but hey, I got a C in calculus and had more than my share of "other grades" my first try at college. I just made it a point to have a better second time around and a relatively high last 45 GPA, and got a few offers from vet schools my first time around. Just sow improvement and you will be fine. Keep trying.🙂
 
How did you get a 1570 but still spell dying wrong?

I know that's a snarky comment, but a bunch of successful vet school applicants (and a vet) just told the OP that there is still hope pending a successful re-take, so I think it's a little arrogant to come on as a brand new applicant and start giving out grim chances.
 
OP: Like everyone else said, I think if you re-take chem and do well you'll be fine. Good luck! :luck: 😀

Okay, up to this point I was only slightly annoyed and somewhat amused by the trolling. But now you've crossed the line: you used the wrong "your" and I'm going to have to school you...

You're = contraction of you + are
Your = possessive of "you"

Get it right.

P.S.- as a preemptive strike...

There = referring to a place
They're = contraction of they + are
Their = possessive of "they"

I'm done now.
 
Good GOD I hope they're not pre-med. This person can't spell worth **** or use proper grammar. You can't fix stupid.

A#$hole is one word and f*ck doesn't need to be capitalized unless it's at the beginning of a sentence. Try to avoid using either of those in your personal statement, WrinklesDelux23, and you should be fine.

Is it bad if I'm kind of sad that the lil troll got kicked off...? I can't see the posts unless they're quoted! he was kinda amusing. Pre-vets can be pretty quick wits when angry!

My favorite part was being called an idiot for explaining the difference between your/you're and there/their/they're to someone who supposedly got a 1570 on the GRE, but can't seem to spell "awesome" correctly. 🙄 :laugh:

The troll could of been the best thing to happen to this forum. I think we should bring him back. He brought humor to our lives during these stressful long nights wondering if our dreams will become reality.

I find trolls kind of amusing too, so long as they arent causing people genuine distress or completely ruining a thread.
