Man, just enjoying some nice hot southern weather before starting boards studying when I get an email saying we could start looking into F30's. 🙁 Apparently they ask for your entire life story from conception through medical school. Just kidding. I'm surprised they want your undergrad transcript and all your test scores.

For the MCAT if you took it twice do you put the best set best subscores, or everything? What if one of your score sets wasn't representative?

Contact your Program Officer. That's what they're there for.

Also realize, that a lot of the F30 is about your training plan, your PI, your environment, etc. Many people neglect this part of the application, but it probably is more important than your actual proposal. If you know someone who has served on the F30 committees, ask for their help.

They definitely care about your undergrad grades and your entire life story. Most MSTPs are fine because their grades had to be good to get into the MSTP. Some PhD-onlys screwed themselves for these types of fellowships in undergrad (ie more than couple of C's) and don't get funded with each application (yes, even postdoc ones). All aspects of the application count. Less than stellar grades can be used not to fund you. They are looking not to fund your project, but looking to fund you yourself as a developing scientist - so your entire life story matters.

For better or worse, they do care about your grade. I had a comment about the committiee's inability to evaluate my medical grade as our school is pass/fail. However, none of these would matter if your proposal is subpar. So devote all of your energy on research proposal and training plan and rest is small potatoes.
