FA 2007 or 2008?

I'll be an MS-II this year, and have just begun to try to accumulate as many used Step 1 review books as I can to save some money. My question is that I've heard that using FA through your MS-II classes can be helpful, but the new 2008 edition doesn't come out until February I think? Should I just get FA 2007, wait to get 2008, or should I try to get a cheap older version now and then get 2008 also? Thanks for the advice!

I recommend getting a cheap older version to follow along (ask some older students for their 2007 copy) and then getting the 2008 FA when it comes out.

I had a couple of classmates opt to stick with their 2006 FA when studying and upon seeing new information in my 2007 FA, immediately got freaked out and had to shell out the dough for a new one.

This, as one could imagine, is incredibly annoying after you've spent 3 weeks annotating stuff in the 2006 FA and are now forced to carry two copies of FA to and from your study location.

The updates from year to year are minimal. Things are rearranged to hide the lack of new content. Some mistakes are fixed, but new errors somehow find their way into new editions.

thanks- I was asking because I like the formatting of the 2007 version way better (the 2008 version has the color pictures section in a weird place I think)
I wonder why they can't fix the errors once and for all?

If your an organised reader 2008 is better than 2007. For example in the 2007 FA vasculitis are in the Musculoskeletal section whereas in the 2008 are organised in the Cardiovascular section. There are a few new diagrams especially in the basic anatomy of systems but the diagrams which had errors in the 2007 FA havent been corrected.
