I've seen discussions on studentdoctor.net about naturopathy, and wanted to make a separate discussion to share a very important site.

Britt Hermes was a naturopath who gave up her practice in the face of realizing that the profession is full of pseudoscience. Her personal telling of her experience are valuable for anyone who wants to learn about naturopathy from someone from the inside.

She has also written a very detailed account of her clinical training at Bastyr University for Science-Based Medicine: http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/nd-confession-part-1-clinical-training-inside-and-out/

It seems that naturopathic medicine is full of lies, and Britt's blog really sheds a new light on the darkness of alternative medicine.

Are you Britt Hermes? If so, sup.

If not, cool story bro. 😵

That blog is crap, and also endorses an even crappier blogsite "sciencebasedmedicine".

Naturopathic medicine is growing and they will be working down the road from you whether you like it or not. They surely aren't against you. Learn to integrate. They even have a membership category at the american medical student association.

Lol, you registered for the site just to post this? Good luck.... :bang:

OP just got banned while I was reading the blog...hmm...

That's weird. Duplicate account maybe? Nothing they said was particularly inflammatory, really...

Wouldn't be surprised if mushroomguru and TRH are the same person, just trolling the forum by starting a debate with himself. Two new accounts created at the same time solely to post polar opposite opinions in the same thread on a topic that is known to get SDN riled up? Looks a little suspicious...

I don't know. The suggests having infinite time to waste on one's hands. So much better stuff to do. 😉

Well when their usernames are combined, mushroomguru-TRH does become an anagram of

“Hurr, Momus got U
– HR”

which is clearly intended to be read as a sarcastic memo from an HR department informing us that we have fallen victim to Momus's trolling. Momus of course, is the Greek god of satire, mockery, and censure.
(Source: I own tinfoil and I've read Harry Potter so I know all about anagrams.)

In any event, thanks for posting the interesting links OP. Your time was short, but informative.

I think I love you

It was not uncommon for students to perform prostate and gynecological exams on each other in order to complete the required examination for competency. And in fact, the instructor of our advanced gynecology class (an elective course) asked the female students taking the course to act as standardized patients.
