This is kind of a weird question, but I am curious if it would make a difference on my FAFSA with receiving aid/grants/etc. if I was filed under married.
I am getting married this June, but that would be too late for it to be on this year's file...Would it be worth getting legally married now to file opposed to only using my information. Does it change anything?

I got married in between OMS 1 and 2. Loans didn’t change but I lost my Medicaid eligibility. Wife and I didn’t see tax benefits but my state doesn’t have an income tax to begin with.

Certain schools give out need based aid depending on the fafsa but pretty sure almost no do schools aside from possibly the publics fall into this category

One difference I noticed is that as an undergrad, being married already I didn't have to fill out the parental background section as I was an independent getting no help from my parents for school. If you think that will change for you post-marriage, it doesn't. Many of the schools I interviewed at said that I will have to start filling it out to be considered for school based aid and scholarships, even private ones. So don't skip that section if that is the case for you as well.
