Quick question...i know this should be in the financial aid section but noone ever reads anything there...so, do we have to file for both FAFSA and Profile for financial aid like in college or just FAFSA??

med schools as far as i've seen dont do the profile. you turn in a fafsa with parental info, and they usually have their own separate financial aid application to turn in.

btw, does anybody know what Drexel's FAFSA code is? The one listed on their website doesn't exist for FAFSA (it's unrecognized). 😕

Is this true? They told us at UMD that it was not necessary to use our parents info unless they earned less than 20,000 a year and we wanted to try to get extra money that way.

not every, but of most of the schools i've interviewed at its more or less the case

Don't you have to do your/parents 2002 taxes before doing the FAFSA? I do not understood how it could be done without this, because it says "from your 2002 tax form."

Thus, no submitting until Feb at the earliest...right?

you technically could put in estimated numbers on the FAFSA before you and your parents file, which worked fine for me during undergrad. But, I've been lead to believe you shouldn't do this for med schools. in any case i'm just gonna wait till all our W2s get here 🙂

Correct Jacobim! One more reason to annoy your parents!

Thanks guys, you've been really helpful! Wow...i think there are gonna be a lot more loans than i thought....why couldn't everything be in grants....
