Does anyone know if the FAFSA is required before applying to vet schools, as a part of the overall application? Or, can it simply be filled out for the same year that enrollment begins.

I'm planning on applying for 2011-2012 enrollment. Does this mean that along with the vet school application I'll submit this October, that I'll have to fill out the FASFA for this year before submitting everything?

Thanks for your help.

You only have to submit a FAFSA if you want financial assistance (which most everyone will--it's expensive). Only your VMCAS and some supplemental apps are due in October. If you apply this coming application cycle, you'll have to submit a FAFSA by approximately March 1st of next year.

Nope, not required. I didn't even fill mine out until I was accepted.

Yeah, I had my app in in september and filled out the FAFSA in feb. You def dont need it for the VMCAS, plus its not even possible since you dont have the W2's for that full year yet. 👍
