Hey Guys,
I was wondering how long it took to hear back from FAFSA? I applied over a month ago and I still havent heard anything..

Thanks, D2B

all they sent me was an email about 2 days after i applied that said i can check my EFC at their website. It is the schools and government, rather than FAFSA, who actually offer you money, so to my knowledge they are the ones that will be getting back to us over the summer about finaid.

Check with the school... at UW they have had mine complete for months, but don't send out aid packets until end of May/ June

As others have noted, you don't hear back from FAFSA. It is merely an application service, much like AADSAS, in that they relay your information to the schools you listed on your application. Based on your FAFSA those schools will put together a financial aid package and all government loans are dispersed through them.

hey guys, had a question bout fafsa, i just applied for it like 2 days ago. and for the first time, my dad didnt need to do his electronic signature. i'm guessing that cuz i'm applying as a grad student, i'm automatically considered independent? or is it cuz i'm married? does it make a difference? from what i understand, we're all guaranteed the 38,500/yr regardless of anything, correct (even though i just finished the app like 2 days ago)? thanks

my parents didn't have to do their sig either, and i am not married, so i am assuming it is bc we are grad students. if you applied in time to meet your school's deadline then yeah I think you are guaranteed something like 38,000 from the government. if the school's budget exceeds that you have to apply for alternative loans which aren't guaranteed but I think most people get them if your credit is alright or you have a cosigner.
