July 1 is the deadline.

Of course, the schools appreciate it if you can get it in much sooner than that.

March 1st is the priority deadline.

Does that mean that your Income Tax has to be filed before March 1 also ?

July 1st is the deadline for federal aid.

Deadlines for state aid vary though, check out the following link:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/before003a.htm

I'm not sure if states even give aid for graduate education, but it's worth looking into.
