I will be applying this year to (hopefully) matriculate for 2016.

Is there a benefit for me filling out the FAFSA this year? I might take a community college course to fulfill one last requirement, but that's it.

I will definitely be applying for FAP on the AAMC website (I'm very disadvantaged), but there doesn't seem to be any mention of providing FAFSA information on FAP. But I seem to remember friends mentioning FAFSA for the FAP in passing, but maybe I was just hearing things.

You need your parents' income tax information to file FAP (or documentation that says you cannot obtain said information), not FAFSA. Both use the same information, which could be where the confusion comes from.

There is no harm in filing FAFSA, as it takes 10 minutes to do so, and circumstances may change where you could benefit from the possibility of receiving said financial aid.

Thanks for the clarification!
