Is this for undergrad? If you're under 26 you have to put your parents. Basically if you have a question you need to put their income.I'm kind of new to this. I don't know if I should put my parent's financial information. Will inputting my parent's info decrease or increase the amount of loans I could take out. Would love it if there was a lot of subsidized loans.
Medical school? There aren't subsidized loans and your parents income don't effect the loans. I don't ever put anything.
Thanks. You are always so helpful tuvmIs this for undergrad? If you're under 26 you have to put your parents. Basically if you have a question you need to put their income.

Actually this isn't technically true, if you can prove you are an independent i.e. Married, pay your own taxes, etc. You do not need to list your parents info. I have never listed it and I've never had any trouble.
But for OP yeah I would say they need to list it unless they fit the above description.
Sorry, for clarification, our parents' information won't effect anything in medical school? I've been waiting on my parents to complete their portion of the FAFSA for two weeks and it would be incredibly relieving to not have to deal with that anymore.

Your parents don't need to supply any info. since medical students are considered independent students. One caveat however, some schools provide scholarships and your parents financial info. is used in that regard. If your school does not provide scholarships which you may qualify for, you can complete your financial aid forms without your parents input.

Yeah you're correct. I didn't go into any of that because I was making an assumption if they were asking they weren't married. Paying your own taxes doesn't make you independent on its own though.Actually this isn't technically true, if you can prove you are an independent i.e. Married, pay your own taxes, etc. You do not need to list your parents info. As someone said if you're going for any scholarships you may need it, ask your school, but if not it can be just yours. I don't even file my own taxes so it's like 5 clicks for me and I'm done.Sorry, for clarification, our parents' information won't effect anything in medical school? Your parents' financial information won't impact how much you can borrow for medical school. Neither will yours, actually. Assuming there's no reason you can't get GradPLUS, you'll be eligible for the full cost of attendance because it's not need-based.

I never list my parent's financial info ever since 2015. You won't need it if you have a job, do your own tax return stuffs.
