I understand that the financial aid award for the Summer semester depends on previous year's FAFSA. In my case this would be the 2012-2013 FAFSA. The question is do I have to go back and make any changes to the 12-13 FAFSA in order to be eligible for an award in the Summer (e.g. adding new school) or do I simply leave it alone?

this is a question for your school's financial aid department

I called the fafsa people about this when I was filing a few months ago. They said that I didn't need to change anything except add the name of your new school. Hope that helps! 🙂

Make sure you know that your 2012-2013 loans have been distributed. If you didn't take out any loans then don't worry.

Add the school and then make these changes.

Line 29 – select button #6 1st year graduate/professional
Line 30 – select button #8Graduate or professional degree
Line 47 – select the "yes" button…"At the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year, will you be working on a master's or doctorate program------"

If the 2012-2013 loans have already been disbursed does that mean they won't be able to disburse any more for the Summer? Also, I can't register for Summer classes until April 22. I won't be awarded until I have classes added for the Summer, correct?

Thank you for the response

Edit: uh oh, I filled out the correction and hit submit, but I forgot to add the school. Now FAFSA isn't letting me make another correction. Do I have to wait a couple days for the form to be processed?

You have to make those changes in order to be eligible. And idk what your situation is, did you take out the max 20,500 in direct unsubsidized loans already? If yes then you will have to take out grad plus loans which have a higher interest rate.

It should allow you to edit the fafsa. You might have to wait until its processed which will be a couple of days.

As far as when its dispersed, I had to submit a summer financial aid form and they are currently processing that and my fafsa. But I have already registered for my summer classes.
