As I am sure many of you all know...FAFSA application is due today.

Are you sure? Our financial aid coordinator is meeting with us tomorrow morning to tell us about it and other loan things... so I'm not totally sure that's accurate for the Fall. Do you mean summer?

Update: Yeah, I was told April 30th.
 
Yeah, I think the deadline may be for certain states. Sorry for any confusion. Plus, I remember all the beancounters at the interviews saying, "get your application in by Feb 15th."
 
at my interviews, they specifically said the priority deadline is today (February 15th). I think it makes you eligible for more grants (directly from the school).
 
on the fafsa website it says only Connecticut and Tennessee have deadlines for today

true, but it doesn't change the fact that many schools have openly voiced to interviewees that they want us to submit our FAFSA's by this date. i don't know if it matters, that's just what they said.
 
i submitted my fafsa last month but haven't fill my taxes yet not any other update for that matter. you said some schools requires us to summit our fafsa by 15th....do you mean just summitting the fafsa online like usual?
 
Do you guys know if we have to summit our parent's information too, even though we are considered independent😕?
 
You don't have to put your parent's info in since you're a graduate student, and thus independent - even if they name you as a dependent on their taxes - but some schools want you to put your parents info in for some of their own scholarships and grants.
 
I know that Minnesota requires you to submit your parents info.
 
I thought March 2nd was the deadline for priority? However, its better to do it now then wait last minute.
 
what about vcu deadline, does anyone know when that is?
 
I think it's different for most school. University of Washington is due Feb 15th for priority...
 
OHSU isn't due until March.

Does anyone know if our taxes have to be done when we submit? I'm still waiting on 1099s from my investments, but am wanting to submit anyway and just update it when my taxes are all done. Does it really matter?

Ballpark it and give a good estimate. Measure with a micrometer and cut with a hacksaw.
 
Does anyone know in what ballpark of an EFC would be good to have to get financial aid?
