Honestly, I do not know what to say and It's hard to me but I really need advise.

Unfortunately, I didn't pass CK and my plans to apply by next Sep. 1st will be changed.

I still didn't take any step except CK which i failed. I booked for CS in next March. So, what do you think ?
Do you suggest plan ? to re take CK soon ? or change the sources ? or postpond the CK till I take the CS ?

The sources are :
Kaplan notes, Kap qbank( scores were around 45 ) ..
Then I stop for 3 months
I've come back to the UW directly! ( Scores were 48 )
I didn't take the NBME.

I end up with Fail !

waiting you guys

Thanks a lot

If you are an IMG it is difficult to advise you as your background training may be very different. My advice for anyone is going through world thoroughly and using the Secrets book. The problem with that strategy is that it assumes a certain level of knowledge acquired working hard during 3rd year. Maybe trying FA for CK would help..

I reckon you have some flaws in your revision strategy (but hey, this is coming from someone who hasn't sat it yet, so take what I say with a pinch of salt). So after finishing Kaplan's QBank you were getting pretty crappy scores, so you needed to reassess your revision strategy there. Clearly, something was not happening for you. Leaving it for 3 months just meant you probably lost whatever knowledge you had gained through attrition and diving into Uworld also gave you a pretty crappy average. You should have postponed after that to consolidate your learning.

As for my revision strategy for CK (also as an IMG) I thoroughly read this forum first to gain an idea of what other students were doing that was working for them (why reinvent the wheel?)

I did Uworld first, timed unused mode and completed that. After each block, I went through the explanations and annotated stuff I didn't know into the relevant section of Step up to Step 2. Ended up with a cumulative of 72% and a last five block average of 76%. I think what Phenytoin says is very true, I'd like to think I had a decent baseline level of knowledge before starting. As an IMG, one of the main things you need to focus on are different treatment algorithms that you may be used to, such as when to CT or treatment of dyslipidaemia etc.

I am then reading through Step up to Step 2, going to finish that by next week and then read Secrets over a fortnight before sitting CK in Feb.

So in summary, you need to reassess your current level of knowledge and try to adapt your learning to areas of weakness that you know about. Don't try and reinvent the wheel, use tips and strategies that others have done before: if it works, don't fix it!
