Hi all,

It looks like I will be repeating my first year as I have failed anatomy and my school does not offer remediation. As a result, I will have what would have been my second semester off from school.

While I intend to take a summer anatomy course before returning, I am wondering if there is anything else that I can or should be doing during this spontaneous time off.

Thanks!

This happened to numerous students at my school last year. A lot of them stopped coming to class completely, and basically - from my understanding - took the semester off. Some of them worked it out with administration to still come to lectures and sit in on those. Basically did the lectures, no anatomy lab, no examinations. I think if I were in your shoes, I'd do that. That, and review the crap out of first semester so when that comes again, you'll crush it. Best of luck.

I suggest doing one of the flashcard sets (Bros or Zanki) while you are off. I am sorry about the no remediation thing, that sucks. Make use of that time. You really need to make up for having the failed class, and board prep is one of the best ways to do it. Also agree with the poster above that you should restudy that semesters material, especially the stuff you know you missed. You can do this.

There's a girl in my class who had a similar situation happen to her last year. During second semester, she reviewed lectures that her class was currently going through as well as started doing research. If you'll be around the area, I say try to find some sort of research that can keep you occupied for 6 months.
