General Failed Boards - will I lose my job?

Hi I was just hired for a job and currently have “board eligible” status. I know I can get hired being board eligible, will I eventually get fired it I can’t pass my boards? Thank you

Yes. Don’t fail your boards repeatedly. For the vast majority of docs this isn’t an issue

Most institutions will expect you to be board certified within a certain time frame. If you do not, they will likely not continue your contract.

It's almost universally specified that you have to attempt boards within a timeframe and pass within a timeframe (sometimes it's just pass within a timeframe). It's common to be hired contingent on passing.
