Hello all, I was wondering for some advice. I am a Caribbean medical student. I recently failed CK right around application time. I am wondering if it is worth it to apply at all now? I am planning for family medicine.

Step 1 202
CS passed
CK failed

What are my chances, if at all? What should I do? Should I wait another year or take CK as soon as possible and continue with the application cycle?

First figure out what went wrong and work to fix it. One mistake students do is to hurry up and retake it. Yes a failure being a Carib grad is going to look bad but not as bad as 2 failures would. Which Carib school you go to will also play unto it.

Sorry for your troubles.

Figure out what went wrong before taking it again.

I'd research programs to death before applying.

yes as others state first find out where you went wrong!what carib medical school did you attend?

I attend Ross University. So you all would advice to wait until next year cycle to apply? Thanks!

If it is available, I think you should get advice from someone at your school versus on SDN

You need to retake it. Given that applicants are getting higher scores on average and that the minimum to pass has increased, you need to focus on this exam before worrying about residency.
