Failed class but still got accepted into pharm school?

hahaha...nah, man. I only thought chemistry is pretty easy b/c I am a chemistry major. There are many classes that I had to study very hard in. LOL....My GPA is only high b/c I worked very hard in undergrad. High GPA=hardworking, doesn't imply anything else! 🙂

Oh whatever! You went to Stanford, while I went to some cheap public school! You are smarter! You most likely need a perfect SAT score in order to get accepted! That's something I def don't have. 🙁 My SAT was like a 1280 really ****ty.

Hey guys, I have trouble this semester. It's likely that will fail my online British Literature class in a community college. That was a technical problem with the midterm exam on Blackboard. I applied this class as a Pass/Fail option. I still have small chance to pass as along as I have 350/500. Currently, I'm standing at 136/145 in the class. If I take the risk and go on then receive a Failed grade ( they will put U= unsatisfactory on my transcript), would I hurt my chance to get to pharm school? My GPA at the college is 4.0 right now but it won't be this semester after I struggle with orgo chem, human anatomy and calculus based physics. It's likely that I will have two As in orgo chem and physics with a B in human anatomy. What should I do in this situation guy?

If you failed the midterm due to a technical problem, then you should talk to the prof and try to get that straightened out. If you failed because you didn't know the material then you could either try to drop the class if that is possible or study like mad and try to pass the class. A W looks better than a U but if you think you can pull out a pass, I'd go with that.

I have 5 Fs and I withdrew from an entire quarter. I applied on academic forgiveness so I never talked about it on my application or in the interview. They didn't seem to care and admitted me anyway.

I'm assuming you go to USN? Was there anywhere else you were able to apply? I'm in need of some academic forgiveness as well..kind of afraid USN is the only school that looks good right now. Not that I have anything against the school, but I'm more afraid to put all of my eggs in only one basket.

I will talk with him in person tomorrow morning in his office. I took one class with him one year ago and did quite well in the class ( not his best student thou). I really hope that he can forgive for that technical problem and let me do something about it. About the grade, if I want to pass, I cannot lose more than 50 points for the remaining of the course. That means I need to work extra hard to get at least two Bs in both the big essay and the final exam. Also, I cannot afford missing any posts in the forum. I got 94 for the last essay. I'm not sure whether I cannot make it or not. This has become so frustrated to me right now. It should not be something I mess up.😡😡😡

There was a recruiter for a college of pharmacy who came to talk to pre-pharm major and he claimed that there was a student who made ALL F's...0.00 GPA one semester. He still got accepted because he was honest, got his act together, and made nearly all A's from then on (im sure he retook most of his failed classes).

I only applied to USN but that was because at the time they didn't require the PCAT so I met all the requirements early. I had intended to apply to a bunch of schools the following year but when USN accepted me, I decided to go. I honestly think I could have been accepted elsewhere if I applied to other places. My bad grades were over a decade prior, I retook all the prereqs and got As on everything, and I got a 99 on my PCAT. I doubt all the schools would hold my past against me when I had clearly changed but I guess I'll never know.
