No... But it's a class that I have to take to graduate... Do you know how the DOs look at the failed course? It's not the end of the world..retake it. Are you a computer science major?
Okay... So if I have 2 courses where I got Cs in, should I retake those classes and boost up my GPA? Does it look bad if I retake 4 or more courses?i'm pretty sure if you retake it they'll accept the new grade and not the F, but lets just say you better not do that again

I failed this class because I was going through a divorce with my boyfriend... Yup I married him at 20 and I'm I divorcing him at 22. I was really stressed from the divorce and unfortunately I allowed my it to negatively affect my school performance. I tried really hard this semester to do well but unfortunately my effort were not reflected on my grade for this class.Since I see a lot of coddling going on here, I just want to make one thing clear. Failing a class should never be an option. DO or MD a doctor is a doctor and failing classes shows really bad personal management skills. Now to answer your question. Your chances are not ruined, but by your responses here, you seem to have a pattern of not performing as well as possible in other courses as well, sure you can retake the courses if you want and while the higher grade will be factored into your gpa, there is a chance that the schools will still see the failing grade. This is especially true if you attend an institution that does not erase such grades from official transcripts. I was a very fair AO, but the one thing that I hated seeing were F's. To me, when a student receives an F, without a compelling reason, it shows complete lack of responsibility, as I know that most students have to work, or not work, just as hard to get an F as they would to get an A. - Admissions to Medicine
