Hey guys. I failed my CS exam in December. I was lucky to not have to retransmit my score as I already had my Step 1 and Step 2 CK on my record. My dean told me to keep quiet about it until I retook the exam (I passed), but wasn't able get my scores back before the ROL. I matched, but my residency doesn't know yet. I'm planning on telling them when I start, mostly because I know there's some work I'll need to do to make up this mark. My dean told me this wasn't a match violation and that I wouldn't lose my spot, but I thought I'd throw this out there if anyone in the forum had some advice. Thanks!

Obviously on a professional level, 100% honesty is mandatory. But as your dean has said, it isn't a match violation for you not to promulgate the CS fail then pass. So I'd just move on with life and not talk about it. If someone at residency asks you, then yeah, just be up front. Things happen.

They put you on their ROL without having known your CS score or asking you for it leads me to believe they don't care too much about it. It is their problem if they did not do their due diligence, you don't need to tell anyone anything unless asked, this is not lying by omission. good luck
