I failed the COMLEX step IIand am supposed to retake the exam in a week.. but I took a practice exam (the NBOME) and received a borderline failing/passing score.🙁

I am considering pushing back my step II until October... That means scores will not be up until November... Should I take the exam now and risk a borderline score? Or wait... Is November too late to apply?

Apply now and take Step 2 later. Failing step 2 is a surefire way to get yourself placed in the "no look" pile at many schools that might have otherwise considered you. If you have a weak step 1 score, failing to post a solid step 2 score in October will probably cost you a couple of interviews, but it won't cost you near as many as a failing step 2 score. Good luck!
