The exam I had was diffrent f

I passed step 1 with an 82%, Please any advice will be appreciated

I want a spot in Psych but beggers cant be choosers

Should I even apply for this years match I plan to take it again in Dec.

Whats weird is I am studing now and doing questions i am getting about 66-78 on the questions but my exam didnt reflect this preformance or the content I was used to,

I will study from Crush The Boards Step2 which I didn't use lst time and I will also take Kaplan which I didn't do last time

Thanks For any advice on 1) my study plan and 2 ) My chances at residency

definitely apply. i know someone who failed step 2 recently, and has gotten interviews after the fact. people fail, its not that uncommon.

I don't think that psych fills all of their spots so at the very least you'll be able to scramble into somewhere. I would apply anyway. Don't report step 2 scores, retake, and pass the 2nd time. I used Boards and Wards, Kaplan Q-bank, and NMS question book to study and did pretty well. Some people used other primary books such as 1st Aid. Basically, figure out your weaknesses from the 1st time and study harder for those subjects.

Damn. You got me scared as hell, I'm also going into psych and taking step 2 on Saturday. I'm averaging in the low 60's on qbank and I realized that I probably wasn't going to exactly ace the test, but at least thought that I had a good shot of passing. Now I'm not so sure. Anyway, I chose to not automatically release my scores, but rather wait and do it manually when (if?) I find out that I pass. You really should've sent out your ERAS in September (even if your other stuff wasn't in yet), because many programs will send you invites very early (just go over to the psychiatry forum and read the "anyone received invites for psych interviews" thread). Just take the test again, pass it, and release your scores when the time comes. But for right now, you need to hurry up and get your ERAS in.

Just think, what's the worse that could happen? You don't get a spot, big deal. If you didn't apply in the first place, you will still not get a spot. Just apply, spend some money on apps and see if you get any interviews, if you do, great, if not it's almost as if you didn't apply anyway. I think it's a no brainer.

Thanks For all your Posts

I am going to apply, and see what happens, I am using Crush and I tell you I made a big mistake studing for it using the NMS Series,

Thanks everyone

No, no. Amy's right. I think that mydoctormd meant to say "two-point" score, not percent. "Percent" and "two-point" are two different things altogether. Amy's head is not in her own rear-end, as you suggest.
