So I'm in the second half of my P3 year. I've never needed to get anything above a 65% on a final before in order to pass a class, but I've really been slacking lately and now I'm in a situation where I'm sitting at 62% in a class, and must get a 76% on the final exam to pass (the final exam is worth 60% of the grade).

I've never faced so much pressure going into a final. The final is in 2 weeks. Just to put things in perspective, typically when I slack off I score anywhere from 65-75 on exams, and when I study fairly hard I score anywhere from 75-90.

So getting a 76% on this final is no guarantee. My final exam is in 2 weeks. On the first exam, I started studying the night before. My plan is to study 4-6 hours a day for the next two weeks to prepare for the final, my intention is to know every word of every slide and aim for a 100%.

Any thoughts/words of encouragement? I'm really stressed out and burnt out, and really hate the fact that there is so much pressure on one exam.

It can be accomplished if you truly apply yourself. Years ago I got <60 on a midterm, then in the high 90s on a final.

However... you need to quit it with this bare minimum mentality. That is a recipe for failure in the current pharmacy market. You are bound to repeat this problem if you do not appropriately prepare for the future. If you think there's too much pressure on one exam, realize YOU put yourself in this position. I've been there too. Failure happens, and it's not the end, but it is preventable. Take responsibility and make the appropriate changes. Don't compromise on your new study plan. Browsing reddit or playing games or whatever isn't worth repeating a year.

Don't just "know every word of every slide" either.... UNDERSTAND the material. Look at different practice questions. Think of case questions (if clinically related).

If you are failing, you aren't studying enough.

Being successful in life is 100x harder than any pharmacy school exam. Good luck in life.

Not true lol. Life is way easier than pharmacy school, gtfo.

Good luck OP. Time to go balls to the wall studying. No hobbies in the next couple weeks, just use your time to cram. Stimulants are your friend (caffeine).

Crush that chit and then tell everyone to shove it! If you need more motivation: consider the price of you failing... a years worth of not making pharmacist income, having to pay to retake a class, maybe being a full year behind, etc. that’s an expensive mistake. Buckle down hard these next two weeks like your life depends on it, because it does.

Is it a comprehensive final? Or is it the last exam you will take in this course?
Either way, focus on the objectives. They're listed on the first few powerpoint slides. That's where the questions typically come from. Everything else on your lectures is just background info to get you to the meat; i.e., the objectives. Identify them. You're looking at 5 to 6 per lecture. Be able to verbalize them. Reading through your slides won't cut it. You have to understand the material and be able to verbalize it and better yet, you MUST be able to RECALL the information.
For sure, know what makes each drug special - there is always either a Black box warning, or drug drug interaction. This will be in your objectives and most of these items will be in bold. Questions that will make the difference between A+ A- A B+, you will see those items in italics, which indicates a higher level of detail/knowledge.
Summarize each lecture on a sheet of paper. Draw a line in the middle to maximize space. Write down keywords for your objectives there. Keywords. Not a novel. You should be fine and likely even do well, if you make your studying objective oriented. You will look at these one page summaries until the second right before you enter the exam. Use this tool through the rest of pharmacy school and Naplex and you will be golden.
All the best!

You've made it this far. You CAN do it. Stop making excuses and believe in yourself. You are more than capable so stop doubting yourself. Do or do not, there is no try. I believe in you.
