Failing step 1 Vs passing it barely.

Is failing step 1, then scoring around national average on retake (215) better than barely passing it (192)? which one is the best scenario for residency matching process?

Thanks in advance for taking your time to answer these questions.

I checked your post history. To answer your actual question: yes you can match into IM after failing Step 1 if you get a good score on the retake and you're consistent from here on out.

Thanks for your prompt response, I guess, just need to do well on my retake hopefully around 215 to give myself a chance for IM.
