Failing the NBDE

stupid question but just curious

What if you fail the NBDE 1. do u get kicked out of school ?

When i went to an interview, they said 99% of students passed the exam.

They give stats like that so they can brag that their program prepares students well for Boards.

I can't speak for other dental schools, but at LLU, you are given the opportunity to take it again. Not sure how many times, but it is definitely not a one shot thing.

You just take it again and again til you pass with some limitations/interventions that the school will do to make sure you pass.

I thought you couldn't actually see patients in clinic until you passed part 1. Is that just a myth?

u can take it up to 3 times, if u fail the third time u get kicked out of school. like 97% of people pass, there's a huge curve, at least thats how it was when the boards were a # grade, not just p/f. but dnt stress it, u have a lot of classes to get thru before u even take boards!
