Failing the USMLE?

Even if it is not mandatory, what will you do if you are interviewing for a residency position (allopathic obviously) and you are asked if you took it? Will you lie?

As a DO student what are the consequences of failing the USMLE? Is it absolutely positively necessary to report your scores? Thanks!

From what I understand, you have to report on ERAS that you took it, but do NOT have to report the score.

That being said, I imagine that it wouldn't be very good during an interview to have a PD ask you why you took it, but never reported the score. Might look a little shady...Just my opinion.
