can i apply to optometry w/o the OAT scores. I want to apply to optometry school in fall 06 and i want to apply as early as possible, but i havent taking the oat yet. i could appply w/o the scores, is this correct?

yes. they might even invite you for an interview before they receive your OAT scores.

We should note that some schools may differ on this issue. For example, UCBSO doesn't accept the February OAT. So, if you haven't taken the October OAT by the time you apply for Fall '06, they won't consider you. Their deadline for applications will probably be sometime in December. If you're applying for schools to attend in Fall '06, taking the October OAT will be just perfect for most all schools.

True...However, now that the OAT is computerized, the schools get scores within about 3 weeks, not 6-8 or whatever. I think ICO was willing to accept scores from up until March or April of 2005, and I was applying for fall 2005 admission.

it depends on the school, but i would advise you to have your oat scores, so you know where you stand prior to applying to schools. you should have a logical deployment list of things to do prior to applying

take the pc version of the oat, you can take it anytime and you get to know the results on the spot
