I've got orientation starting tomorrow. Four days long; 7-4 each day. Is everyone's orientation as long? I must say, I'm excited about school starting, but I'm not really looking forward to this orientation.
What the heck? Isn't it like 1AM in the morning in Houston? For gosh sake, get some sleep, Brill! Don't you have to get up early?
My orientation last year was one day, from 9AM to 3PM. The next day was the "white coat ceremony" and reception. This year is a one day orientation from 9AM to 3PM. Classes start after Labor Day. 4 Days of orientation? Wow!
Well, by tomorrow I mean Tuesday since technically it's already Monday here. I still get one last day to sleep past noon 🙂
It sounds like my orientation is going to be a bit excessive. All kinds of lectures, group activities, social events, ceremonies, etc. I'm sure some people are going to love it, but it's just not my kind of thing.
Do you have to go through orientation again, as a 2nd year? If so, that's not fun. I've got orientation the 27th-29th, then class on the 2nd. They like to see us dance and show up at orientation at 7:30 and 8am. Maybe they have something fun planned (I can dream, can't I?).
They want to introduce new faculty and administration personnel, hired since school let out. They also want to update us on changes to the curriculum and other policy changes that took place over the summer. Sounds like fun. 🙄
I have orientation in 4 hours. Today, it will last from 12-6pm, followed by a social at a beach bar. Then tomorrow, it lasts from 9-2pm. I have a day off on Wednesday, then I have another orientation day on Thursday. School starts for me on the 25th (next Monday).
Isn't that against the law? 😉 I'm sure that the faculty is thrilled that they have to come to work on Sunday and Labor day (as are the students). You need to hurry up and join that gang. Maybe they have some collective bargaining powers, like a union. Good luck!
USC's orientation is tomorrow and Wednesday, while the White Coat Ceremony is on Friday and classes will start next Monday. I feel like I am moving back in the dorms again. The college life all over again.
