I will be applying for Fall 2007. I already picked out my top choice schools; however, I am trying to choose my fall back schools in case I do not get into my top choices. So maybe somebody could give me advise on schools that are a little bit easier to get in. ( I do realize that most schools are very competitive, but there should be some schools that are less competitive than others or do not require super high GPA and PCAT).

Depends on your state. Some scools give prefe to in-state students so you might have an advantage even with poor scores. In general I think MCPSH is easy it says 44% acceptance rate on their website which might not be true. Some other colleges I can think of are uacp (if you want to go rural)

This page tells you the acceptance ratio at various schools average being 7. The FAQ is very helpful with all kinds of different information.

There are no "easy" schools to get into. I recommend applying to a variety of schools... some PharmCAS, some non-PharmCAS; some fully accredited, maybe one that's not; some that require the PCAT, some that do not. This way you are sure to cover all of the pharmacy school "bases."🙂

I looked at which schools my stats were pretty good against and applied to one or two of those as "fall back schools." But keep in mind that a school might have a higher acceptance rate than others, but be very biased towards in-state students - that info is on the AACP website, as well as GPA's of incoming students and which are PharmCAS, require an interview, etc....

I look at all the schools that I'm applying to and I have no idea which one will be my fallback, probably UOP. I really don't want to go there though - 3 years for what will potentially be the career of my lifetime is not something I want to rush through.

ones w/o accreditation yet are usually easier or easier going, though UCSD was a clear exception to that rule. i swear it's pickier than the top 3 schools in the nation.

What are your stats? I can give you a few schools (or none at all) depending on your resume... I'll PM you... "safety school" is a dirty word in this forum. hehe

I am Mathematics major with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Economics. My cumulative GPA is currently 3.94; however, I still have bunch of prerequisites left such as microbio, physics, physio. I am taking PCAT in June. It is actually hard to talk about my stats since I am taking bunch of prereqs this semester.
