Hello so I have completely finished up coming up with my schedule. Got off the waitlist for a few classes. As of now I feel like the classes will be difficult to handle, but I am not sure.

The classes are:

Honors Ochem 2: 3 credits
Immunology: 3 cr (not too hard according to ppl who have taken it before)
Genetics: 3 cr (known to be a very difficult class at my university)
Honors Ab Psych: 4 cr
Behavioral Neuroendocrinology: 2 cr

What do you guys think?

If you hold a full time job on top of this schedule, I would reconsider taking genetics. If you are given the opportunity to engage in your education unmolested, then have at it! Looks like a really interesting semester. I personally loved Organic and Genetics.

It's heavier than what I would take if I planned on getting a 4.0 that semester. I would trim off Behavioral Neuroendocrinology if at all possible. That puts you at a respectable 13 credits with 2 upper-level science courses.

Immunology was hard at my school, though.

i will not be working, but I will also be doing research for credit. Any inputs on Abnormal Psychology and Neuroendocrinology?

Do whatever interests you... I think both will be very interesting but it depends what you want to get out of the class.

Do you handle busy schedules well? If it's just that + research I personally think it's fine.
Maybe you can drop a class later in the semester if a 4.0 seems unlikely.

I haven't really taken a heavy semester such as this one I plan on taking. With that said, I will not be working this semester and I am living on campus so I don't have to deal with commuting. Also, for Genetics one of my very close friends is a student TA for the course. For Neuroendocrinology, one of my former professors is teaching it, whose teaching style I absolutely loved. Will this schedule (hoping I get somewhere between a 3.85 and a 4.0) look impressive to medical schools? I have visited medical schools such as University of Chicago and they stressed the importance of taking a challenging schedule.

Abnormal Psych is pretty easy, so that shouldn't be a problem. Behavioral Neuroendocrinology sounds really interesting. But I personally wouldn't bother with honors classes, unless you have a genuine interest in the subject. I took honors ochem and I deeply regret it.

That schedule looks pretty impressive to me! If I were you, I'd drop one of the classes just to be a bit nicer to yourself. Can you take the Neuroindocrinology class in a different semester with the professor you like?

After speaking to some friends from the university I decided to drop the Genetics course. Genetics is the most failed class at my university behind Calculus 2 and from what they say, the three professors that teach in the fall make it even harder. They recommended taking it with the professors that teach it in the spring. I replaced Genetics with Evolutionary Biology. This would be the ideal time to take it since the professor that usually teaches it is from the Department of Botany and makes it very botany heavy. The professor teaching it right now is from the Department of Zoology and gears it to appeal more for the Zoology/ Biology majors. However, it falls in the same time an Neuroendocrinology which i dropped and replaced it with Mamallian Embryology which is a 2cr class that sounds easy because its more on reading papers and research heavy.

So now I am looking at: Organic 2, Immunology, Evolutionary Biology, Honors Abnormal Psychology, and Mammalian Embryology.

Seems a lot better without Genetics involved!

Organic seems fair since I will be taking it with the professor I took Ochem 1 with and he was pretty good, immunology isn't too hard based on the average GPA and feedback I have gotten, Evo Biology will be hard but it seems ideal to take it now, AB Psych will be fair, and idk about embryology but it doesn't seem to be hard.

Just curious but what leads you to take this schedule? What interests you about your classes?
