Since its the time to register for classes I thought id see what everyones taking. Right now I plan on endocrinology, bio of behavior and cellular neurobiology and somethin else...super stoked and cant wait!

I registered but then was able to get a position in another lab. I've been volunteering in a behavioral psych lab but was looking for neuroscience and got into a great situation. I have to see through my commitment to the psych lab for one more semester (fall) so I feel like I should take my schedule a little lighter to allow time to dedicate to this new opportunity. (also my terrible GPA from 2001 will keep that from ever being my selling point so trying to develop other areas). I am currently enrolled for 19 credit hours but thinking about changing to...

Honors Organic Chem I (4 credits)
Organic Chem Lab (2 credits)
Organic Chem problems (1 credit)
Bio 2 (4 credits)
and something else...maybe Physics? But that would take me to 15 hours which isn't taking it light when orgo and physics are in the mix. If not, I am at 11 hours and need to be above 12 but can't figure out how to get there. My only pre-reqs left are Calc (I know it's not always required), Phys 1 & 2, Organic Chem 2 and Biochem. I'm open to any ideas if anyone has any

You'll have your hands full. Ochem lab is no joke and bio 2 is time consuming. And i suggest biochem after ochem 2.

Ethics. Psychology. Or something seemingly unrelated to your pre-med goals- show that you have an interest outside of all the hard sciences- well roundedness. 🙂

Physics 1+lab- 5 credits
O Chem 1+lab- 5 credits
Calc 2- 4 credits
Anatomy TA credit-1 credit

I'd be careful with too many more than 15 credit hours, I did 22 this past semester, and it has been the semester from hell. I did some serious restructuring with my time management skills and am managing with everything, but I literally have no life outside of school and barely any time for shadowing and volunteering. I think between 15-18 is a nice, reasonable workload, especially so you can make sure you get good grades.

Good luck everyone! (and also good luck on upcoming finals!)
