I'm just curious,
For all the urban FP doctors out there, what kind of practice do you guys have? Are you doing mostly oupatient office stuff, or hospitalist work, or a combination of hospital + outpatient? What, if any procedural work do you guys do? If you could perhaps mention how big your city is in terms of population, and what kind of practice you're involved in, that'd be really helpful.
The reason I ask is that if I could work as an FM doctor in an urban area, be able to do some procedural work, (joint injections, paracentesis), OR be able to work as a hospitalist, especially in urban Texas, I would be happy with FM as a career choice.
Any input would be appreciated.
