I have begun my Family Practice rotation and was wondering what good text/question books were out there. I have been told that Essentials of Family Practice is not really that great. I have completed Medicine and Peds rotations thus far so i guess I am looking for a short text that more focuses on just the issues that are exclusive to Family practice that I could read probably in one weekend and then a solid questions book that I could concentrate on for the duration of the roatation. Thanks

I don't think you're going to find any decent "quick reads" that will do you any real good. FP is simply too broad in scope to fit into a short textbook. If you flip through something like Essentials of Family Medicine (William & Wilkins) and just study the sections that you don't know very well, you'll be better served.

As Q&A books go, my favorite is Swanson's Family Practice Review (Mosby).
