Hey people,

I got an interview letter from FAMU ( I will post the date as soon as it is avaible) .
I wanted to know did anyone else got a letter form FAMu and what is the view abt this college? is it a good college?
 
I did not recieve anything from them about an interview yet, but I did recieve a few letters from undergraduate admissions about various things.
I recieved an invite for a scholarship dinner, which ended up being for High School students!
I am not really sure about FAMU, but a recent grad of the Pharmacy School did tell me that the lack of computer/electronic database usage makes processes a little more diffcult there. I think each school is a personal fit, and you should make the best decision for yourself!

Yes, most of the winter their website was blasted with 133t speak. Rumor has it that about 80% of their pharmacy class is 0-6 students. As few as 10 spots may be open to outsiders any given year. If you got an interview I commend you.

I got an interview too which was weird bc i never expected it lol just when i thought its over it gets complicated now. FAMU dosnt seem diverse to me but mostly African americans not that its bad but i would like a broadly mixed school u know. The tuition is unreal and super cheap but then the though of how important is money with hapiness. its still not my top pick nor 2nd pick. i still feel im going to wait back a year and graduate end of the year with stronger credentials and shot up my chances.

Im lost😕 they dont even take pcat so my 90's PCAT didnt even factor in which was odd????

heheh true.. same here I jus wanna keep all my doors open u kno... thats y i m goin for an interview adn getting the feel of college. anyways what interview date are you goin for? where are you from??

no not really lol but its up to u to decide but ive decided not to go and wait on my top pick bc its closer to my family and friends. If i dont get in then i will re-try one more time and go 100% to where i get in next year.

For all of you wondering what FAMU will decide about your application, I just spoke with a representative who stated that between now and the end of March letters of interview and decision ( I am guessing bad in that case) have been mailed. Good Luck!🙂 Just another chance to stalk the mailbox!

Diamond- I was just wondering what are you reasons for thinking FAMU is a great school?

Well, you already got your interview letter, so you are a step ahead.
Bascially, I was stating that for all others waiting, a letter is in the mail to them, with either a letter of interview or unfortunately a letter of rejection in the next two weeks. FAMU has just moved into the next phase of the application cycle.

lol yeah thanks. NOVA and UF is my first choice, I had interview with nova still waiting to hear somehtign from UF and I am on waiting list for PBA 🙁 itz soo annoying

u should consider FAMU rather than Palm beach or nova bc why pay 28 and 20k when u can pay 5,000. As for UF then i would go with UF just bc 🙂
 
I got my interview letter. I didn't think I'd get one but I think it's pretty cool- still waiting on UF as well.

So you will be interview on the frist week of the whole interview process. Are you getting nervous now? Wish the best to you and do not forget to share with us what happens and how you think you did...🙂

How was your interview at Famu? did they tell you when do you know the result from them?

I have to drive 5hrs to Famu next week for my interview..I wonder if you stayed in the hotel around the school cause I will do it. Please let me know!

The interview went well, just be yourself. They will ask you questions about some of the classes you have taken. They said all the final decisions will be made on April 15th and they would mail out the decisions. I live in Georgia and I only had to drive a hour and a half to get there. I parked by the building and then went straight to the third floor.

Funny story,

My letter was actually LOST IN THE MAIL!!!! I called FAMU today to check and see if all the letters had been mailed out and decisions were made, and they said yes, two weeks ago! I said I had not one piece of mail, and then over the phone, they told me I had an INTERVIEW! YEAH! lol, thank goodness I called. All these people say, don't call. I am glad I did. I will be interviewing on April 10th.

Good Luck too all of you!🙂

Does anyone know how many who interview actually get in? Thanks!

nice, good for u. I dont know its hard to tell with famu bc they take alot of students who go to their university. I wasnt planning on going to the interview but now im going and if i get in i will go 😀 whats ur pcat, i think my pcat will help me and i might mention it since they didnt use it to pick me. So i hope they say why should we pick u. i mean i wont say pcat alone but it will be one of the reasons. gluck man

I think it is funny how everyone is complaining about how things they could control, and my letter gets lost, that really is crappy luck! LOL! Hopefully, this is a turn for the bettter! You know, PharmPills, my opinion of Fam really changed after I saw the culture and prices of other schools. Another student on here mentioned turning down interview based on what you heard about a school. Honestly, thatis rediculuous because think about if someone based everythign they knew about anyone just on what tehy heard. If Fam is willing to give me a fair chance and an interview, I actually want to tour their campus, see their faculty and students, and undernstand how their school works up close and personal. Aren't you the one who got more than one acceptance, but was not sure where, or if, you were going to go? What are you thoughts now?

Also, I know they do take many of their own students, but I have a feeling that if ytou got to the interviewing phase, you are in pretty good shape. I think they are only interviewing 4 or so people per day for 8 days. I am not postive, but I think that the low transfer rate applies to applicants, but once you get an interview, you are in good shape.
Anyone esle with ideas on this!

what do u mean interesting to say? What did they say at the end before u left aside from we will make the decision on april 15 did they talk about having 1000 applicants etc?
 
The committee talked about all the applications and high G.P.A.'s, and how that may not be enough to set you apart. I wonder how many actual spots there are? As far as an interseting story is concerned, I mean my personal experiences, which I will share after we get the letters! 🙂

I interviewed on April 3rd. I hope that the outcome is good. The interview was ok. I left the room feeling unsure about the interview.

I called today to verify my address because my interview letter went to the wrong place, and they asked for my phone number instead. lol, Weird.

Maybe this means they will be calling to let everyone know of acceptance?

Hi I am new to this site but I was reading all your comments and decided to join. I interviewed at FAMU and Mrs James said April 15th was the day letters were going to be mailed out but she said yesterday that she hopes to get them out by friday because they have to be approved. However my friend told me that they know some people who interviewed and just got rejection letters on monday, so its just a waiting game now.
 
I spoke with FAMU over the phone today, and they said the letters probably will not go out until early next week.

I wonder if this is acceptances or not? Hopefully, late news is good news, considering the earlier post says that people were rejected on Monday.
Weird, but anyways don't worry about letters until next week now.
I'm a little disappointed that the school gave a date that has not been upheld:-(
