Nothing happens today for me neither...I guess Monday then guys...
It took 5 days when they sent me the letter for interview. SO...I hope Monday I will get it.

Wish everyone in our group got accepted!!! GO FAMU!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!😍🙂

I would give it a 2nd thought. FAMU is NOT a great school that people make it out to be. Their main university is under SACS suspension and investigation. The College of Pharmacy just got off of suspension, so they have some issues of their own. I would consider finishing your degree at whatever university you currently attend over attending FAMU's pharmacy school. Its that bad.

Sad thing is ur opinion dosnt matter 😀 Fact is i know students who graduated and are working at walgreens as regular pharmacist so dont come here with BS. Second they are the cheapest in the Whole United States and if they were that bad they WOULD NOT have been granted Accredation. I admit FAMU has its problems but for the price its worth it and its accrdited too. Alot of new schools arnt accredited and u have to pay 30,000 a year.

I will say this pharmD is a pharmD, if u dont want to attend then dont less room for more ppl who want to. u dont need to post here, end of story buhbye.

That's right PharmPill! Pharmacy school is pharmacy school.....
If you can get accepted from this school that is great..if you do not get accepted you can say whatever.....

Famu is a cheapest pharmmacy school and they already offer me scholarship if I can get in...So WHy I have to go different school????..I have known so many people who are in this school and graduated from this school......There is NO PROBLEM WITH THEM TO FIND THE JOB AND THEY STILL MAKE GREAT MONEY JUST LIKE THE OTHERS

and everyone wants this school...BUT FAMU DOES NOT TAKE EVERYONE THOUGH!

Hey I just wanted to see if anyone started applying for scholarships yet or if they submitted their FASFA. I was just gonna wait until I found out?? What did you guys do? best of luck

First off your facts are way off base. The university nor the college of pharmacy NEVER have had their accreditations suspended. Suspension is the very last resort for any accrediting body. ACPE placed the college on probation in January 2007 and the probation was lifted in January 2008. SACS placed the university on probation in 2007 and will review FAMU's case in June. The SACS review team has already stated that they were highly impressed with the actions of Dr. James Ammons, the tenth president of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. The problems that FAMU had were due to our inept former interim president who said publically that she was not supportive of the COP. In the 57 year history of the College of Pharmacy and the 120 year history of FAMU, not once did we have any problems with accreditation until she came on board. Put thankfully she is gone now. So before you open your mouth about FAMU make sure you have your facts right. And as a current student in the college of pharmacy anticipating graduating in 2009, I am watching firsthand the tremendous strides that our dean Dr. Henry Lewis and President Ammons and their tremendous leadership team have made. Any future Rattlers who want the truth about FAMU COP contact the students like myself who really know whats going on not people who make up facts to make themselves feel important.

In other news, Congrats to those who are accepted to the University that sits on the highest of the seven hills of Tallahassee, The Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. I welcome you with open arms and care in my heart. FAMU Today, FAMU Tomorrow, FAMU Forever!!!!!!!

Good luck to everyone!! Hopefully, we all get good news!!!!:luck:

can i ask u ur stats? its ok they have problems since they take most of their own students even with a 2.0 GPA  but who flunk out eventually. Anyways i didnt get accepted here either but i have an acceptance so its all good.

I got in!!! 🙂 I feel so blessed, and to those who didn't get in keep your head up.

I got accepted! Congrats to all those who also did! You earned something you deserved!🙂

To those who got rejected, I have been rejected by another school, Creighton, as well, so I know rejection is not too much fun at all. But know that what will be, will be, and if you work hard and are patient ,good things will come! I am glad to see some really amazing attitudes for those who did not get exactly what they wanted. Kudos for that and do not giev up, you all have the right attitude to succeed.

God Bless!

Hi everyone, and congratulations to all of you who get accepted and for those who did not, never give up😉. I have been on those shoes:scared:, and I know exactly how you feel. I applied to 8 schools and I have received 7 rejection letters without an interview but it was something good for me at the end. I feel so excited and afraid at the same time. I have mixed feelings.😕 There are so many things to do in these four months that I don't even know where to start. Finding a new place to live, packing, quit my job, apply for financial aid, buy new clothes, and so on. Thanks all of you guys for your posts. I have been reading them and it has given me support. I will see you in August:laugh:😍:hardy:

Yes FAMU was on probation...but we/they have received FULL accreditation. I doubt that we/they will go on probation ever again because they have changed their whole adminstration staff and restructured the program. You can quote me on that because I am currently a p-2 student there going into p-3 in the fall. Come on people you need to have faith in the institution.

i dint get in I am sad

I was very tempted to apply to FAMU, but I didn't because I had a strong feeling I would not get in. I spoke to alot of people with awesome grades that did not get in. Your chances kind of decrease if you don't start in their pharm program straight out of highschool. Hec, there was one girl who applied their three times and even graduated from their undergrad with a Bachelor's in Biology and still didn't get in, but got accepted to Albany, which is a pretty tough school to get into. If I really cared about a school which I didn't get accepted in I would call them and ask them what you can do to get accepted next time. Maybe that can increase your chances if you want to reapply for FAMU next year. Chin up.🙂

THEY WERE on probation, but got full 6 year accreditation back earlier this year. No worries.

By the way, it would be great if you guys that got accepted would join the facebook group I made. It consists of me, a 0-6 candidate, and a bunch of other 0-6 candidates that have received their acceptance letters. It will serve as a way for us to keep in touch over the summer and for us to get to know each other.

Here is the link: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=14556091611

And if that link doesn't work for you, type in FAMU PharmD C/O 2012. There are numerous other groups as well, but join this one as it will be kept up to date by me, Matthew.

Once again, congrats to everyone who got accepted!

PHARMPILLS:
ALL Institutions are evaluated every 2yrs so yes FAMU is off all probation and is just as qualified as every other accredited pharmacy school.

I GOT IN TOO!!!!! So excited! Congrats to everyone.

Schools go on probation for simple stuff such as not having enough dorms to some deeper stuff like not keeping up with important documents!!Any school can go on probation at any moment!! That's something that we just have to leave in the hands of the admistrators!! And the professors and staff at FAMU are awesome and got it all together!! So, I am not worried!! But to each his own!! Good luck everybody!! Remember it's not where you go, it's what you make out of it!! So, good luck in all your future endeavors!! Not being ugly!! I am too sweet for that!! lol just playing! Good luck to everyone!!! I have no time to discuss anything that is not positive and out of my hands!! Good day!! Next...

Outstanding!! Congrat DrWrong on that 4.0!! See you around in August!!!

Students who are enrolled in Colleges of Pharmacy on Probation or even as Candidate status can finish the program and ARE ELEGIBLE to sit for the board exams no matter what happens to the school AFTER they are enrolled. I'm not a fan of FAMU for personal reasons, but it is a Pharmacy School and students enrolled for this fall at least, won't have a problem with accreditation issues.

Statement is false and misleading. FAMU is ONLY accredited for 2 years, PROOF:
http://www.sptimes.com/2008/01/15/news_pf/State/FAMU_pharmacy_school_.shtml

I love proving things its more fun 😀 Second your 4.0 MS GPA is more BS than an MS . FAMU is not out of hot water but if u like to gamble then go for it after all tuition is nice.

I'm just conveying the message that Dean Henry Lewis told the pharmacy students in attendance at one of the forums in the spring semester. Whether he meant that the students will be worry free for the next 6 years or that the students who enter the college before 2010 will be fine, i'm in and safe. And i will sure be getting my PharmD degree in 2012 😀

I just realized that you are the same guy that keeps posting negative comments about FAMU all over these forums. I'd just like to know is if this is because you got rejected by them? I mean, because with the pass rate that FAMU has on the NAPLEX, that is the only way you could possibly have a grudge against them.

Hey does anyone know what the tuition is for out of state students? And does FAMU let students change their residency status? Right now me and my husband are trying to get information about both schools that i have been accepted to. I never though this decision would be so hard.

Tuition for out of state students is : (All is per credit hour) Tuition: 77.39, Financial Aid 3.65, building fee 2.32, Cap improvement fee 2.44, activity and service fee 10.50, atheletic fee 8.90, Non-resident fee: 379.07, non-resident fiancial aid fee 18.95, Total fee per hour $503.22. You can find this information on www.famu.edu then click students, prospective students, registar, tuition and fees. In order to claim residency in florida I think that you have to bee here for a full year. Hope this helps.

Can anybody give me an idea on where there are scholarships for pharmacy students?

At this point I guess everyone has reply their acceptances letters, so what is the next step?? Are we going to receive instruction regarding matriculation, classes, schedules?? Does anyone know. Please post!!!!😕
