I know that there are fast track pharmacy programs for high school students who are applying to college. (My friend applied to the Loyola - Midwestern program as a senior in college, and in just a combined 6 years, she will be able to get her PharmD, assuming that all the Loyola requirements are met).

However, I am going to graduate college in a year. I was wondering if there were any Pharmacy programs where I can get my Pharmacy degree in, for instance, 2 years instead of the traditional 4 years. Anyone know of any pharmacy schools who have such programs? Or know of a link that I can go to?

Thanks! 🙂

The 6 year program that is for people coming out of high school consists of 2 years of pre-pharmacy, then 4 years of pharmacy. Just because you completed your degree in some other field, does not mean you obtain the necessary credits or classes that is part of a pharmacy curriculum. There are accelerated 3-year year-round programs, and then there are traditional 4 year programs for pharmacy school. There are plenty of people who have graduated college with a degree and gone to Pharmacy school for 3-4 years in pursuit of a PharmD degree.

In short, the answer is no, there is no 2 year PharmD degree program.

i see i see ~ then do you know of any 3 year accelerated programs?

your undergrad is the part that you can do in 2,3 or 4 years...the fastest you can do pharmacy school is 3 years...sullivan, UACP and lecom bradenton offer the accelerated program- but its year round.

I have been doing alot of research on all the pharmacy schools to see which one i would really be intrested in and for your question:

3-Year (Accelerated) Programs

The following institutions offer a 3-calendar year Pharm.D. degree program to students who have completed all college-level prerequisites for admission.

Pacific Univ. (OR)

For pharmacy school: the fastest is 3 years.

For undergrad: depends on the pharm. school you plan on attending. Some schools require 60 units completed prior to applying, others require 90, some require 40 units, and others require bachelors degrees and/or pcat scores.

USN probably requires the least amount of units/classes to complete and its a 3 year program. However, they focus primarily on gpa, and because of this, last years incoming p1 students had a class average gpa of 3.7 w/ 1600+ applicants fighting for approx. 200 seats at 2 campuses.
