I haven't learned about this yet. In the BR ochem book 2, section V-lipids, on pages 12 and 14 they show reaction steps for "straight chain fatty acids naturally synthesized from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA via a five step cycle" and "the formation of fatty acid triglyceride from dihydroxyacetone phosphate."

Are these part of some metabolic pathway that is important to know?
