FAU vs FIU

Hi all,

I got into both FIU and FAU and I've been flip flopping between the two so far. I'm OOS (CA), so tuition is about the same for me. I know FAU has a smaller class size and more personalized lectures, but it seems like FIU may have better research opportunities (though larger class)? Any feedback would be much appreciated!!

Hmm, they are pretty close / similar. Looks like FIU has a required research element while it's optional at FAU. That might be a factor depending on whether you want a school with a specific research requirement. Looks like FIU does some ranking of students and so might be a more competitive environment, but their grading policies are similar. Location could also be a factor. FIU in Miami, probably more fun but more expensive cost of living if that matters. The PBL focus at FAU might be more significant but hard to tell from MSAR. You might focus on the curriculum and go with the one you think suits you best. You could DM an M4 at each school and get their insights.
