One of my faves was the following

"Dude, I like playing World of Warcraft. I play a rogue. I like getting behind some unsuspecting noob and backstabbing em when I come out of stealth like some Bird of Prey from an old Star Trek episode. But that doesnt mean Im gonna make my career playing computer games. Sure I love it and I love watching old episodes of the A-team too. We all have stuff we love. If you love research then do it part time in your garage or some crap. Better yet put those inquisitive science skills to use and learn auto repair or woodworking or a thousand other more useful things. Regardless of what people in academics say knocking out some gene to create gay Drosophilia and worms with glowing wieners is not going to bring about Utopian society."

I love it when he just lays into people. That shiat cracks me up. I wish I had those skillz...I have the personality that if I had those skillz, I'd use 'em too.

For example, LADoc00 to some dude named scott:

"Ahhh, Scottie did I hurt your feelings? Go tell momma and remember to get your graham crackers and milk before Mr. Rogers starts at 11. Your post was so scripted and trite, Im wondering which "feel-good" ***** website you cut-n-pasted that from...

FOBs: They arent bad people, in fact they are quite nice which is why they get pushed into the less desirable jobs of our society, like being an eternal post-doc (the modern version of building the transcontinental railroad, and yes that analogy is apt)."

Another example, LADoc00 to Thrombus:

Ahhh this is why I love posting here, the bountiful harvest of thin skinned young pathologists Yes, little thrombus stay away from California, we are far too crowded with whiny pathologists as it is. My ultimate goal is to have to the whole state to myself, so far its working.

Muhahahahaaha

Little Thrombus says to his advisor "Some mean guy on the internet said MD Anderson isnt the greatest place on Earth" sob sob "Can you believe that??"
The advisor pats the little thrombus on the head "Dont worry lad, we know the truth, the surg path fellowship at MD Anderson is happiest place on Earth!" The little thrombus wipes the tears away, comforted.
The End.

I like LADoc00's posts. He goes balls out. He has real ultimate power! Many times, he's not politically correct. And I like that. This country has become too anal retentive when it comes down to political correctness. I respect him because he won't hold back on expressing opinions even when a few or more people will find it offensive. I will miss reading his posts.

But quoting a few favorite posts doesn't do enough justice here. LADoc00 was much more than a few choice posts. He embraced the art of making funny threads, in addition to some serious ones. Or maybe they're both serious and funny at the same time. Who knows what exactly goes on in that brilliant mind of his. Anyways, although I was a target of this thread, I found this absolutely hilarious.

The guys in the lab found this thread funny too. Although the content was sad but probably true, we were drinking beers at the time so we were in a giggly mood.

Something weird has occurred here.

Anyway I'm an LADoc fan too. His posts would be worth their weight in gold, if they did in fact possess any mass.

I just gotta disagree with this LaDoc lovefest. Not being politically correct is fine. I don't think I am uber-sensitive but was offended by some of his posts about MSTP ladies. And then what he did to banana was over the line. I think there is some ground between being politically correct and blatantly rude and disrespectful. Of course I did enjoy some of his posts.

I guess I probably need a flame suit on now.

Please stay on-topic and only use this thread to relive LADoc's wit.

He did have a good skill at quickly posting replies with powerful images.

Call me crazy, but he made the path forum extrememly entertaining.

Now we will have to go back and listen to yaah fret about how studying for step 3 is diminishing his training.

Im with you beary on this.....
True we need someone with sensibilities of an ox to let us know how idiotic we are....but that doesnt mean he is right always.....

Awsome.

This thread is fantastic.

Harsh.

I just found it funny that someone who has posted over 10,000 messages is worried about not studying for 1 week to pass step 3. Just think in the time it takes to do 10000+posts you could have read Robbins, Rosai (2 Vols) and perhaps even the Iliad.

Methinks he was imitating LaDoc00 for everyone's amusement.

Lighten up, bro. You'll live longer. For what it's worth, I am not worried about step III. I am, however, complaining about it because it is a miserable excuse for an exam and a waste of time for all concerned.
