Just wondering.... mine are anatomy and histology.

Ah, histology. I love it. Those slides are so...pretty...and...relaxing. If only every class could be like histo (sigh)

I can't go for the anatomy thing. Anatomy is a burden on my soul. It's my own personal hell. My own living nightmare.

I have to agree with this. Damn Latin!

Physiology is much better. Things actually make logical sense.

I haven't had anything but anatomy, histo, and clinical medicine. I like anatomy, but I'm a little tired of dissecting. Histo is the bane of my existence. I think physio will be cool when it starts in a few weeks.

even though i find anatomy to be the most difficult (partly because my school smushes embryology into the anatomy course) due to the sheer volume of crap there is to know, i also find it to be the most enjoyable. it actually makes me feel privilaged to be a med student, like i'm actually going to be a doctor soon (unlike bullsh/t 1st year clinical med classes where people simply turn a blind eye to students' incompetence and humor us).

ironically, physio was my favorite subject as an undergrad, but i loathe the way our faculty teaches it, and now its firmly entrenced as my least favorite class in med school. go figure.

oh sh/t, i didn't notice the last option...that's the one. 😉

I agree, I hate that God forsaken class. How can 6 people think that is the best MS1 class?? Anatomy is clearly superior 👍

Anatomy over Biochem seven days a week. The worst day of anatomy is still better than the best day of biochem.

Why isn't neuro on the list. I really enjoyed it. Much less smelly to study than anatomy and not nearly as "totally unbelievably so awful that I want to gouge my eyes out while jumping off a tall building" as biochem.

oops.. i realized that i was thinking only about my school's fall semester classes, and forgot to tack on some other classes that are given in the spring... but the list is fairly correct for most schools' fall semester/quarter, right??

anyways--- i guess this poll is more or less for current M1's then.

peace

I'm in a problem based learning course, and our first block is Anatomy, Histology, and Embryology. I favor anatomy over the other two subjects overwhelmingly even though it is mostly rote memorization. It's strangely fulfilling to learn about the structure of the human body. I am glad to know that there is some interest in physiology and neurology, for those are the subjects of block II.

Anatomy has been great so far. Biochem sucks because of having to memorize a bunch of random pathways. But the scum-sucking bottom dweller has got to be human behavior. :barf:

We just got into microbio and path and I gotta say I'm enjoying it much more than our first block (which was mainly biochem and microanatomy -- review of college courses more or less); not that it's fun to memorize a billion and one bacterial names and their pathogenesis but at least we're finally learning something tangibly clinical - come on-- isn't exciting to learn the 20 different ways you can get diarrhea?

Last option all the way 🙂

How to chose?? There are so many GREAT choices!!!! 😛

I guess I'm one of the weirdos that loves biochem. 😉

I guess that puts me in the weirdos part II category for histology. I'd love to go into pathology if it weren't for the fact that your head is glued to a microscope all day every day. I'd like to see patients 🙂

Looks like you're weirder than I am based on the poll results. 😉

anatomy over biochem...and anatomy will be over this coming wednesday :-D
