I was wondering if anyone has any resources they have found especially helpful for NPD. This individual actually has both NPD and OCPD with themes of abandonment present. Looking for resources that are helpful therapeutically as well as resources for family members. Thanks in advance!

All I've used are mainstream chapters from books like Theodore Millon's Personality and Its Disorders and Aaron Beck et al.'s book on Cognitive Therapy for Personality Disorders. Honestly, in my clinical work I haven't really delved into Millon's book since grad school though I will occasionally review the cognitive therapy for personality disorders book when I've needed to brush up on core/intermediate beliefs and maladaptive behavioral patterns of the relevant personality disorder.

Thank you!

Nancy Mcwilliams - "Psychoanalytic Diagnosis"
Gabbard - "Psychodynamic Psychiatry in Clinical Practice"
Millon
Laplanche and Pontalis
Kohut
I ordered several Nancy McWilliams books earlier this week so I am glad to someone else has recommended them! Thank you for the other resources as well!

Highly recommend Eve Caligor's book, Psychodynamic Therapy for Personality Pathology. Also look into Frank Yeomans and Otto Kernberg who are both giants in the personality pathology realm of psychology/psychoanalysis. Diana Diamond is also fantastic and you can find a lot of her lectures on NPD on Youtube. Also second Nancy McWilliams, she's brilliant.
