Hi,
I saw a prescription today that was d different so I was looking to see if it was valid. It's not electronic but a fax with a signature but it's not on a nys blank. What's the requirements on a faxed script? I only found one site which indicates that a nys blank on faxes is required.

In NY? Must be an eRx or on a NY blank. The serial number stickers have been invalid for many years. Electronic Rx's delivered as faxes might be valid? Can anyone comment on that?

It was strange .Was told that they can't do electronic yet. I think it's a e fax, electronically generated fax with a Sig.ature..never seen that before

We have had a few issues come up where E-rx "fail" in some manner, and appear as faxes rather than appear in the E-rx queue. We were told we had to call the sending office and verify, then document on the fax.

Otherwise, the only valid fax is a standard NY blank that was put onto a fax machine. No other prefilled forms or any of that stuff. I think there may be an exception for LTC, but not my area of practice.
