I have a 3.25 sgpa and a 3.54 cgpa, I have to basically get all A s here on out to raise my gpa significantly. I had a 2.7 gpa last tear which i raised so im on an up trend. The only thing is the fear component and the thought of messing up and one slip up to ruin my gpa completely and therefore chances of med school. How do you say I should handle this fear of failure that is preventing me from improving?

I'd say you should relax, and try your best. If you fail, you fail. You have to have the attitude that it's better to go down fighting rather than going out with a whimper.

At the end of the day, a bad GPA in your undergraduate degree is not a death spell. You can always take more time and do a post-bacc or a masters to prove that you're not the same student anymore. Also, a great MCAT score somewhat makes up for a mediocre GPA.

Dude, just get 'r done. Your GPA is already in a range acceptable for DO schools. As you say, you are on an upward trend so you have clearly figured out what caused you to initially perform poorly and corrected it. You're on the right path!

Reading a lot on SDN it seems to be common to have upward trends junior/ senior year (I'm assuming you are a junior?). Hopefully you will now be taking classes that are more interesting to you and, in turn you will see your GPA improve! Also at my big college the first two years are referred to as "weed-outs" because we have so many unqualified premeds that don't make it past the first two years. I don't know if it's like that at your school but you are in better shape then a lot of people just work hard and you will do great!

don't worry about it....try and think long-term. Throw everything you have at improving your application with your grades from here on out and then if you apply and get in, great. If you apply and get rejected just keep throwing everything you got at improving your application. Unfortunately, at least in my experience anyway, there is no real easy fix for GPA problems. But if you are determined and persistent and working hard...i mean what? they'll reject you forever? ...unlikely.

You gotta risk it to get the biscuit, dude. Go hard or go home. Don't listen to fear, and don't be naive at the same time. If you can do something and believe it is possible, and you want it more than anything, sell out completely for it. Above all, be realistic, not fearful.

Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But Fear is a choice. Good luck on the improvement.
