Since january was such a good month for a lot of people, MechE, Nikibean, the negative1, and myself, I hoping Feb is just as great. Only now, we're not preparing for interviews, we're just waiting, which is the part that really sux!

So while we all sit around trying to concentrate on the semester, and getting on good terms with the mail man...feel free to post your highs and lows here. Just stay positive...remember we will be medical students next fall!

I'm trying to stay positive but my patience is really wearing thin these days as I'm sure are a lot of other people's too. I didn't really think too much about the whole process before January because I was so consumed with work and grad school. But having been on break, it's all that I can think about now and it's driving me nuts!!

Phew...anyway, I'll be interviewing at MCV next Tuesday and I'm hoping to finally get a decision from Vermont soon.

All I can do now is wait for that sweet, sweet day when all this madness is finally over.

or will the day that the madness is all over be the day we realise that the madness has yet to begin...in august?! Either way, best of luck!

is this like a good luck/ support thread for ppl waiting on final decisions, oor for ppl waiting to be invited for interviews?

i know there are threads elsewhere stating the same thing, but can't help asking myself everyday if it's already february now, itzallover!!! so what were your experiences like last cycle around this time of the year? did ppl still get interview invites that weren't for waitlist spots?

bubble: this a good luck thread for whatever you need good luck for-be it interviews or acceptances. So feel free to post as you wish.

Personally, I'm just waiting until march to see what unm som says. I can almost forget about this whole damn application thing, then someone at work asks me if I heard anything yet. (NOT FOR FOUR MORE BLOODY WEEKS!) "no, I won't hear until mid march, but thanks for asking..." Hey, can't yell at them, they mean well.

I will be a medical student this august...I will start medical school this august...I will be accepted to UNM SOM and start medical school in august 2006! (happy thoughts)

I know what you mean, rachminov. My dad asks me all the time, he has been since I interviewed at ECU in September! It really gets my blood pressure up sometimes, becuase I tell him over and over (and told him last year! ) that a lot of schools won't let you know until May, and even then it's not over if you get waitlisted.

He keeps saying that he doesn't understand why those (expletive) people can't let me know. And while I'd love to have an early acceptance, I'll just be happy for any acceptance at all.

Like you, Shyrem, one school, ECU, is looking like my only hope this year. But I've applied to two summer MED programs and I'm hoping to be a better applicant next year if I have to reapply again.

Eventually I'll be a doctor, though. That much I'm certain of.

I've been placed on the alternate list at Vermont. 🙂 Oh man, I can almost taste that acceptance. I bet it tastes good too, like a fruit pie.

Mmmm...fruit pie.

The admissions committee (for OU) will meet this Sunday and decide my fate. :scared:

Same here.

My only hope rejected me today (ECU), so I'm gonna be a reapplicant again next year. I hope everyone else gets in somewhere this year! :luck: I've racked up 11 rejections and the two schools I'm still waiting on probably won't offer me an interview this late (Howard and Meharry, and I'm not a URM).

But the take-home message is that you should never give up. I'm going to reapply and hopefully the third time will be the charm for me. I've learned a lot from these past two years and hopefully I will get accepted somewhere next year.

If you don't mind, what were your stats?

They're pretty bad, so don't lose hope. 😉

I've taken the MCAT three times, and got a 24R, 24R and 22R. My highest combined score is a 25R (8 P, 8 B, 9 V). My gpa is 3.5 and I majored in English/Psychology and graduated in 2004 with a BS and a BA.

I do'nt have a lot of ECs, and my MCAT score is one of my weakest points. I have been on Glucophage since November and it's helped my mental performance tremendously, especially since my blood sugar and insulin levels have been better controlled. I think a lack of adequate glucose to the brain affected my poor MCAT performance, and I'll be retaking in August.

Please feel free to ask anything else, i don't mind. If it can help one of you I'll be happy to. 😛
