Fee Assistance Program 2017-2018
Started by Lalibila
It depends on the school. Some waive the fee if you can show that you were approved for the FAP. Some don't waive the fee. Usually, this info is on the school website where they talk about supplemental fees. If not, call the schools you are applying to directly and ask.
The ADEA guide also has a section where it tells you if a particular school waives the fee or not.

I emailed all my schools after I was granted FAP. Some waive your fee, some don't. Majority do.
I believe it took me just under two weeks once they got my package. How long does it typically take to hear back? I sent in my documents this past Monday.

I sent mine off on 6/5, just got an email back from them. It was shockingly denied. It made me wonder how poor do you have to be, and i'm dead poor myself.

I just received an email saying I was denied as well. I don't know what say, I made sure I qualified based on the income chart they provided. There's no way they could have run out of funds already.

Same. Mailed mine on 6/5, it arrived 6/7 and got an email today on 6/9 saying I was denied. I can't believe it, was really hoping I'd be approved ...
I was also denied ! This makes everything so much more expensive. Just wondering, has anyone been approved?

I guess a 3 person household income of $19k/year is too lavish to receive assistance.

At what point should I start getting antsy? My app has been done and ready to submit since June 1 (and all transcripts and LORs received on June 8).
I mailed all my FAP stuff on June 1, sent an email asking if there's any way to check if they've been received on June 7, but still haven't heard a thing.
Is it still early enough that I shouldn't be stressing over an extra week or so before e-submitting? And is there anything I can do other than give up and submit, or wait it out?
