fee waivers for step 1?

i am in my first year of med school and thought about recently whether or not fee waivers are given for students who are economically disadvantaged. i have always had to apply for these types of things on exams..i emailed nbme and received no response.

any help would be appreciated!

How are you paying for medical school? If you're receiving loans, the USMLE fees should have been worked into your yearly budget (hopefully). If not, can you ask your financial aid advisor for an extension to your loan?
