so i called kaplan and this is who will be at the site closest to me...


barone for path

seiden and wilson for anatomy

lane for biochem

ruebush for micro

kudrath and fisher for physio

raymon for pharm

fadem for behavior

reichenbecher for genetics

anyone had these guys before? any compliments or knocks? how is barone compared to goljan? any info is helpful...thanks!

dr. barone for path
Dr. Barone is great, he's really funny and very "high yield." He doesn't say anything that's not important. I can't compare him to Goljan but from what I've heard there aren't many who do compare to him...I think he's more into really teaching the subject matter more than just reminding us of what will be on the exam....just my opinion.

dr. daughtery for behavior
This guy taught our behavioral class in first year...he is a really good teacher and gives you the information in a way that you will remember it.

Sorry I don't know anything about the rest!

opus03 thanks for the heads up about barone....i just found out however that instead of daughtery there will be fadem...

i also fixed the spellings of various names....gime some input!!

... she taught in indian lakes as well and she is good. funny and very open about her material... gives you examples and how to approach the questions...

Barone is awesome for Path! I thought that Lane was also really good for the Biochem. He gives a lot of examples of questions that he has received from students on previous exams. I had a little trouble following Kudrath for Physiology and found myself having to dig out what I deemed to be the most important topics in the subject. I don't know anything about the others!

Is that Conrad Fischer for physio?? I used his Step 2 CK tapes. He taught IM and I thought he was just awesome. Great teacher. I wonder how he's at physio. Raymon is a really boring guy. He puts me to sleep. I having come across the other guys yet, but that's cuz I haven't gone through my other DVDs.

I had about a 40 page packet by lane that is excellent for Biochem. I used it for the biochem shelf exam and it was very high yield, and fun to read. You can't go wrong with him.
